Here is how we work to make a piece for our buyers.

Each piece is assembled by hand after you place an order. We do not keep in stock printed photographs or assembled objects. Everything is made here in North Vancouver at the base of the “hill” (Mt. Fromme)—specifically for you.

With all photo editing done by the photographer, the buyer indicates the size of the print desired. The smallest size we offer is 18” x 24”. The largest is 27” X 36” (all dimensions are in inches).

We use only matte paper. It has a wide color gamut and does not cause distracting reflections in the way glossy paper does. We offer a choice of two papers: Epson Hot Press Cotton Rag and Hahnemühle Photo Rag. Both are acid-, lignin-, and chlorine-free. They are both 100% cotton rag matte archival papers with extremely high colour gamut and black density. Both are heavy-weight paper of 300+ gsm. The surface of Hahnemühle paper is a bit more texturized and a bit more expensive, so it will add slightly to the total price. But both are excellent.

Printing is done in-house on the latest generation Epson p7570 SureColor fine-art printers with all-new UltraChrome PRO12 pigment ink. It produces prints that capture every detail with unparalleled color brilliance and accuracy. The prints are supposed to last up to 200 years for color and 400 years for black-and-white.

We do take orders for custom printing of your art work of up to 24″ in image width. We don’t have an online calculator for our printing services, but we usually price it per area of the printed image. As an example, a 24″ x 24″ image, printed on fine-art Epson hot press bright cotton rug paper, would cost $50 cad. Please, send us an email with your printing needs and we will provide you with a specific quote.

We like building things that last. That’s why we use aluminum frames. They do not dry out or shrink, a characteristic of wood that leads to frame separation in the corners after a few years. But we do like the feel and look of wood. That’s why we spent a lot of time looking for the best of both worlds—aluminum veneer frames that look so much like wood that you won’t realize they are not until you pick them up and feel the weight. (As light as aluminum is as a metal, it is heavier than wood. For example, an 18” x 24” framer weighs nearly 6 lb/3 kg). We offer a choice of 3 colours: dark charcoal (almost black, but just not quite), grey, and natural wood. The frames look stunning!

We mount the prints on (1) conservation-grade, acid-free, pigment-coloured Peterboro matboards and (2) acid-free foam boards for the frame backing. The matboard matches the pigment-quality prints it surrounds.

We then wrap, pack, and ship your object carefully so it reaches you looking like how we see it—perfect and ready to be a story on your wall.
